Liam's Arrival!
Well... turns out I had to be induced...again! I guess i'm just not ever going to go into labor on my own! September 9, 2011 was the magical day for me, which happened to be Liam's actual due date :) I do have to say it was nice to have it scheduled, I felt like I could plan better for myself and for Shelby. My wonderful mother-in-law took the day off to watch my girl, which made me feel MUCH better. So all I had to do was show up to the hospital and let the medicine do it's thing! We finally decided (shook hands on it actually) on Liam Colt as his name the night before he was born. I really fought for Liam, and Ryan eventually agreed. He really liked the name but he has a family member with the same name and he felt like he was stealing lol! But he did pick out the middle name, which I myself thinks sound pretty studdly!
This was me the day before my induction. Man was I Oh-So-Pregnant! I remember feeling soo done!! What I hated most at the end was the pain in my ribs when I sat down or bent over. not fun! Oh and sleeping was pretty rough too! Ya know the typical things we preggos complain about. Other than that I have no complaints, I had a great and easy pregnancy with no complications and I'm so very grateful for that.
Two days before my induction my doc informed me I was still only at 2cm dilated :( He said it was still enough to break my water, but I couldn't imagine that it would feel very pleasant! However, when I got to the hospital I was at a 4! Woo Hoo! This is me very happy that I could get my epidural right when I got the pitocin. Unfortunately, the epidural wasn't working on one area on my side, so I pretty much felt every contraction. It wasn't so bad at first, but when I got to 8,9,and 10 cm I thought I would die! And I could only feel it in one area! I don't know how women do it w/out medicine...
Luckily for me though my labor was only 5 hours long. Thank goodness! Shelby was 11 hours, so it was really nice to be out of pain in such a short period of time
In a matter of minutes we went from "having another baby" to being parents again! When they handed him to me I couldn't stop crying. In fact the nurse kept asking me if I was okay cause she thought I was in pain lol! I'm getting teary-eyed just thinking about it. I'll never forget that moment. It was beautiful, it was perfect. Liam Colt Nelson was born at 2:00 pm on Friday September 9th, 2011. He weighed 7lbs, 11oz and was 20.5in long. It was love at first sight.
I was so happy just to finally hold him.
Very proud parents :)
My wonderful husband and his new little buddy!
Shelby came with grandma and grandpa later on and got to see "baby brother" for the first time. She was very sweet and gentle with him. But I got to be honest, she wasn't all that interested. There were too many tubes and buttons around to play with!
Even though it had only been a few hours I was still so happy to see my Shelby Brooke!
We love you Liam! You have made our love grow that much more. We are so blessed to have you as our child. And we are so grateful to be your parents, and for you to be apart of our family! Every time I look at my children I am reminded that families can be together forever.. what a beautiful blessing.

He is adorable! You have such a cute family! I totally know how you feel on the whole inducing thing. I was induced with both my kids. Maybe when we have more kids one of my children will actually come on their own! Hope you are doing good!
